Mar Vista's 50th Birthday Bash !

Mar Vista High School's 50th Anniversary was held on May 17th, 2000 (through May 20th).

There was a Golf Tournament, a Koffee Klutch a Dance and a gathering at the Chili Jazz Festival on the pier.  I doubt there has EVER been anything like this gathering of Mar Vista alumni in the 50 year history of the school. Many of your teachers of past years were honored.. it was demonstration of love, fun and memories that will never die.

By any measurement, this reunion was a humongous success.. Mariners came from around the world.. there was laughter, tears and nostalgic reflection.. old friends were reunited and new friends made.  

Please excuse me for blowing our horn (Class of '60).. but this event got off the ground as the brain child of Mary Martin, our Class of 1960 Class Coordinator and Website President.

There were many alumni who worked long and hard to make this event the success it was.  I salute them for all the time and personal expense they gave. A special thanks to Shirley Chase, '77 and Lynn McCurdy, '67 and their teams of volunteers !
